WBO super featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (9-1, 7 KOs) defeated Miguel Marriaga (25-3, 21 KOs) by seventh round stoppage on Saturday night at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Two-weight world champion Lomachenko knocked the Colombian down twice before Marriaga's corner stopped the one-sided fight.

The Ukrainian connected with solid jabs and hard body shots from the start while Marriaga hardly landed a shot.

Lomachenko dropped the challenger with a straight left in the third. Marriaga beat the count, and then Lomachenko went to the corner and urged Marriaga to come at him, which he did, and Lomachenko nailed him.

An accidental head-clash in the fourth, opened a cut over Lomachenko's left eye. However he appeared unaffected by the cut, and continued to punish Marriaga in the following rounds.

Lomachenko was battering Marriaga all over the ring and dropped him again with a hard left at the end of the seventh. The bell ended the round, but Marriaga was done, and his corner threw in the towel.

Lomachenko, who was making his third defence of the 130 pound world title, could possibly fight Guillermo Rigondeaux next, as he aims to become the number one pound for pound fighter in the world.

"I will fight anybody. I want to fight, and I want to unify titles," said Lomachenko.
